PERFORMANCE OPTIONS: In the first verse each phrase of the melody in octaves alternates with a chorale-style phrase. Be sure there is some contrast in the way they are played. The chorale-style phrases are actually harmonizations of the melody played backwards, from the end to the beginning. The only alteration is in the length of some of the first and last notes of each phrase.
