PERFORMANCE OPTIONS: If used an an Invitation, start at the beginning, then at the end of bar 23 skip to the beginning of bar 41. This will avoid the big buildup into the key change and the louder portion of the final verse.

DESCRIPTION: The intro motif incorporates an effective, gentle echo of the invitation line, “O come to my heart, Lord Jesus,” which is repeated several times throughout. The second verse builds beautifully into a modulation and grand statement for the third verse, which then recedes to the tender invitation moment offered by the refrain. The closing phrase (“There is room in my heart for Thee!”) should be played freely, taking great care for expression and tenderness.
